Individual eliminates mother-in-law due to depletion of beer supply.
A Portuguese man, aged 47, is under suspicion for axe-murdering his Swiss ex-wife's mother on Mallorca. Initial police reports hint at the peculiar motive of the crime being an empty refrigerator, leaving the suspect without his favorite beverage and no funds to purchase more alcohol. This is not the first time the local authorities have been dealing with this individual, who has a questionable record. The victim's daughter had split from the suspect more than a year ago.
The Malaysian police force apprehended the suspect after an incident reported late Wednesday evening, near Colònia de Sant Jordi, approximately 50 kilometers to the southeast of Palma, Mallorca's capital. The circumstances surrounding the crime remained undisclosed, but various news sources suggest an exasperated man pissed off at the lack of beer found refuge in violent anger.
A neighbor alerted the authorities following disturbing screams emanating from the residential property. Upon arriving at the crime scene, the police officers of Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) discovered the victim's lifeless body submerged in a pool of blood. The sole occupant of the house, who had a history of repetitive offenses, was the prime suspect. He was immediately detained and is currently under police custody, pending interrogation by the examining magistrate.
According to reports from "Última Hora", the victim's estranged daughter had separated from the man six months prior to the incident and had also filed charges against him for gender-based violence. Despite this, the man had chosen to remain living with his ex-partner and her mother, who had previously resided in Germany for a considerable amount of time.
The suspect's frustration over the lack of his favorite beverage being a 'unique' motive for the crime was mentioned in various news sources. In light of his questionable past, it's unsettling that he was still residing with his ex-partner and her mother, even after his ex-daughter had moved out and filed charges against him.
