Stralsund Regional Court's Decision - Individual distributed unwanted nude images, victim receives 4000 euros in reimbursement.

A young man from Stralsund District Court was recently handed a hefty fine. The court's statement is intended as a warning. This 23-year-old individual, recognizable by various appearances on television and various social media platforms, has been found guilty of sending sexually explicit messages and photos over an extended period of time.

The punishment exceeds 12,500 euros

On June 6, 2024, the complainant was awarded 4,000 euros in compensation by the court. The total cost for the defendant includes fines, legal and court fees, and is estimated to be more than 12,500 euros by the court.

During the spring of the previous year, the man replied to several of the complainant's Instagram posts. These replies escalated to include explicit sexual fantasies. Despite these being disregarded by the recipient, the man continued to send them.

Two months later, the defendant allegedly sent the complainant five photographs containing images of an erect penis in various stages of erection. Another eight weeks after that, a video with pornographic content followed.

The plaintiff initially sought 10,000 euros in damages. The district court's decision is not yet legally binding. The identity of the complainant remains unknown.

Unsolicited dick pics are a criminal offense

In February, the EU announced its intention to better protect women in the future with a new directive. This directive mandates that EU countries must criminalize the unsolicited sending of intimate images. "HateAid" refers to the "Dickstinction" website in a guide for victims, which assists them in filing criminal complaints.

"HateAid" states, "Sending unsolicited penis images to others is considered an offense under Paragraph 184 of the Criminal Code, which deals with the distribution of pornographic writings. Consequently, these images are not just a gentleman's offense, but a criminal offense that can lead to a one-year prison sentence or a fine."
