The Indian Film Festival expands its offerings in Stuttgart and starts this year with a total of 65 current Feature-, Short-, Documentary- and Ad films. The 21st edition of the Film Parade in Stuttgart city cinemas will convey the ideas, industry, and acting art of the Indian subcontinent from July 17-21.

For nearly two decades, the Film festival has been part of the cultural summer program in Baden-Württemberg. The organizers speak of the largest Indian Film festival in Europe. Stuttgart and the Indian metropolis Mumbai have been partners since decades. During the pandemic, the pieces could only be watched from home.

According to the organizers, the former child star of Bollywood Ayesha Kapur, who has been away from the screen for 19 years, returns to Stuttgart to present the film "Hari Ka Om – Hari’s Om" by Harish Vyas. In 2005, the now 29-year-old was already in the festival's program with the film "Black". The Film awards "German Star of India" will be presented at the end. However, the festival had financial concerns last time. According to the organizers, the city of Stuttgart stepped in after the withdrawal of major sponsors.
