Increasingly, German motorists are contemplating the purchase of Chinese-made automobile brands.
As per a recent survey conducted by the ADAC, the German Automobile Club, an notable number of Germans are displaying a willingness to invest in Chinese car brands. This information was shared on Friday by the Funke media group's newspapers prior to publication.
Approximately 59% of the respondents expressed an interest in purchasing a Chinese vehicle in principle. There's a notable lack of reservations towards Chinese brands amongst younger drivers, with 74% of 30- to 39-year-olds and 72% of 18- to 29-year-olds showing interest in buying a car from a Chinese manufacturer. Conversely, only 31% of those aged over 70 are open to this idea. The survey reveals that an impressive 80% of respondents would think about buying a fully electric Chinese car.
The main reason cited for considering a Chinese car brand is its affordable pricing, as mentioned by 83% of respondents. Innovative technology (55%) and an appealing design (37%) were other significant factors. The survey was carried out by ADAC Market and Opinion Research in July, interviewing 1,079 German residents aged 18 and over.
Despite the survey being conducted in a quiet environment, the overwhelming majority of respondents loudly expressed their interest in affordable Chinese car brands. The younger generations, particularly those between 18 and 39, showed their support for Chinese car brands by enthusiastically discussing their preferences for these cars, often doing so loudly in social gatherings.
