Increase in Road Accident Injuries Reported in April Compared to Previous Year

In April, Germany saw a considerable surge in traffic accident victims compared to the same month last year. The Statistical Office in Wiesbaden revealed that around 29,900 individuals were injured, marking an increase of approximately 4,200 people or 16% compared to April of the previous year. Regrettably, traffic deaths rose by three to 223 people.

During the first quarter of the year, German authorities reported close to 789,000 traffic accidents. Surprisingly, this figure was almost identical to that of the same timeframe in 2023, showing a marginal one percent rise. However, the number of injured individuals grew by three percent in this year.
