During the evening, it's more wallet-friendly to refill your gas tank than in the morning - the gap between gas prices at various stations throughout the day has shrunk. In May, the ADAC assessed fuel costs at more than 14,000 German gas stations and discovered that the disparities were smaller than the previous year. For Super E10, the average price disparity between evening and morning was 6.4 cents, while for diesel it was 7.3 cents.

The previous year, the average price disparity between the highest and lowest price of the day reached 8.1 cents for gas and 8.9 cents for diesel, according to the Munich-based auto club. The most affordable times to fill up are between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Motorists can also save money between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. However, it's priciest to refuel in the morning, approximately 7:00 am.

A spring survey conducted by the ADAC concluded that over 90% of drivers and car owners were aware that fuel prices change daily. Nearly three-quarters of the respondents (1,680 people) mentioned that they regularly check current gas prices before heading to the gas station.
