Russians are on the brink of reaching Pokrovsk

In the east, Ukrainian military acknowledges challenging circumstances.

The situation on the Ukrainian battlefront displays a blend of progress and resistance. In the Russian region of Kursk, Ukrainian forces are reportedly advancing, as per their statements, even managing to allegedly disable a set of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. On the flip side, the eastern part of Ukraine continues to see intense Russian aggression.

As per military reports, Ukrainian troops in the east endured approximately 66 Russian assaults on the Pokrovsk front alone on a recent day. Fortunately, these attacks were repelled, although this couldn't be independently verified.

Fierce confrontations occurred around several strategic villages crucial to the Russians' path towards Pokrovsk, which remains approximately 10 km away. The Commander-in-Chief, Olexander Syrskyj, acknowledged the tough situation, while Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian resistance at Pokrovsk was wavering. Russian military bloggers broadcasted their troops' advancement.

Pokrovsk, an industrial and mining city in the Donetsk region with a past population of roughly 65,000, plays a significant role in supplying Ukrainian troops in this sector. Reports of intense clashes also emerged north of Torez.

However, Ukrainian forces apparently continue to gain ground in their offensive in the Russian region of Kursk. The US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) cited visual evidence from the area as evidence of the Ukrainians' relentless push towards Korenyevo. The push eastwards from Sudzha, which was captured in the initial offensive's early stages, continues. According to their commander-in-chief, Olexander Syrskyj, Ukraine now controls 1,263 sq km and 93 settlements in the region.

Ukraine reportedly took out a missile system in the Russian region of Rostov. According to the General Staff's assessment, it was an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system. Russia has utilised this kind of missile in raids on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. The Ukrainian strike targeted a missile system near the settlement of Novoshakhtinsk. Explosions were reported at specific targets, but the precision of the hit is still under investigation. Rostov's governor, Vasili Golubev, stated that the Russian air force had downed a rocket launched from Ukraine over the region.

Almost three years since the extensive Russian invasion, Ukraine has extended ground combat into its adversary's territory for the first time in Kursk. Russia appears to be deployment additional troops to safeguard the area, yet there seems to be no reduction in Russian aggression towards the Donetsk region.

Despite the Russian aggression in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces have seen success in their offensive in the Russian region of Kursk. Consequently, discussions around Wars and Conflicts in the region remain a pressing concern.

Furthermore, the captured territory in Kursk and the allegedly disabled S-300 anti-aircraft missile system serve as evidence of ongoing Wars and Conflicts between Ukraine and Russia.
