Statistics - In Hamburg, women are divorced more often than men
Hamburg women are on average two years and four months older than Hamburg men. The women's average age is 43.1 years old, as the Statistical Office North announced on Tuesday. Men have an average age of 40.8 years. In addition, more women in Hamburg are divorced than men. Among women, this is the case for nearly every tenth (9.2%), while among men it is 6.6%. The proportion of married people is almost identical for both genders (women: 32.0%; men: 32.4%).
Measured by the total population, women make up the majority in the Hanseatic City with 51.1%. The life expectancy at birth for Hamburg girls is 83.2 years. Boys, on the other hand, have an average life expectancy of 78.6 years, as the statisticians further reported.
