During Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, around 50 individuals have perished, as per Palestinian claims. This information was disclosed by the region's health authority, which is under Hamas control, upon request, without explicitly differentiating between civilian and combatant fatalities in the conflict against the Israeli military.
Earlier, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported at least 11 civilian casualties. Additionally, an undetermined number of injuries were reported in Khan Yunis' southern city and the Nuseirat area in the Gaza Strip's center. Negotiations for a truce in Cairo are ongoing, with Hamas sending a delegation.
Israel has been engaged in a battle against Hamas, a terrorist organization, for more than ten months. They accuse the Islamists of utilizing civilians as shields. The army reports intense combat in the south, center, and yet again in the north of the Gaza Strip.
On Friday, the army urged residents of Gaza City in the north to evacuate west towards the sea to dodge forthcoming military operations against extremists. Previously, the city had been targeted with rockets by Israel. Since then, Israeli soldiers have advanced there, annihilating several opponents and destroying terrorist infrastructure, as per the army's report.
