New Town at the Rubenberge - In a multi-family house after a fire, bodies identified
After the discovery of two bodies in a burning multi-family house in Neustadt am Ruebenberge near Hannover, the identity of the deceased has been established. They were identified as the female tenant and the male tenant of the affected apartment during an autopsy, the police announced today.
The causes of death in both cases were determined to be smoke inhalation. The 35-year-old woman and the 44-year-old man had died in the attic apartment on a Monday due to the fire. The cause of the fire was a technical defect in an electrical appliance. The Police estimate the total damage to be around 500,000 Euros. The building is no longer habitable after the fire.
The multi-family house where the tragic event occurred is located in the New Town at Rübenberge, a part of Lower Saxony, not far from Hannover. The fire department and police from Hannover were swiftly dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, the damage to the attic apartment was extensive, and the Fire Department had to declare it a complete loss.
