Police - Illegal car racing - at least 14 drivers suspected
At least 14 drivers have participated in a prohibited car racing event in the Southwest, according to police statements. The suspects were reportedly driving in the districts of Waldshut, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Lörrach with their cars, as the officers further stated. In doing so, they allegedly overtaken oncoming traffic on the right and blocked intersections and crossroads.
Two control points allowed police to stop the drivers on the previous Sunday, who were between 19 and 29 years old. All the cars had Swiss license plates, as stated. Most of the suspects were also Swiss citizens.
A 20-year-old must answer for the suspicion of driving without a license. A security deposit of 6,000 Euros was demanded.
The car racing event took place in the region of Baden-Württemberg, specifically in the districts mentioned. The cars involved in the prohibited racing were spotted causing traffic disruptions in Lörrach. Despite the hazardous maneuvers, some drivers managed to evade capture until they encountered the police at control points in Waldshut and other Southwest areas. The event and the participants' actions have drawn the attention of local authorities, including the police force.
