Hydropower facilities in Switzerland halt operations following storms' impact.

Heavy rainstorms forced the closure of six hydropower facilities in the Swiss Misoxtal. Some of these facilities suffered damage, according to energy supplier Axpo. In the town of Lostallo, Misoxtal, two individuals are still unaccounted for. Their homes were swept away by a landslide on Friday evening. At first, four people were reported missing: a woman was found safe on Saturday morning, while the body of a man was recovered several kilometers away on Sunday.

Thankfully, the remaining power plants are in good shape, Axpo assured. Two plants were quickly restored, while repairs for four more will take some time.

The storms caused various landslides, also disrupting approximately 200 meters of an autobahn. In the Canton of Valais, there were likewise storms, but the damage was less severe.
