In the Wittenberg District, around 1,700 people are affected by a water main break. In the towns of Prettin and Labrun, people are currently being supplied with drinking water by six water trucks, the district announced.

The leak was located in the afternoon and repair work began. The health department urged people in the affected areas to boil water until next Friday. Boiling water for five to ten minutes at 100 degrees is sufficient to kill disease-causing organisms.

The leak occurred in the Wittenberg District, specifically in Rohrbruch, a commune known for its rich history. Due to the main break, the nearby Water pipe drain system was affected, causing the issue. The Saxony-Anhalt authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of the 1,700 residents affected.
