Houthi militants assert accountability for assaults on freight vessels.

Nearest Yemen, more vessels have experienced assaults. On Sunday, the Houthi militia declared they'd assaulted three ships with rockets and drones. Ambrey and British Maritime Authority UKMTO revealed attacks on two cargo vessels. Nobody sustained injuries.

Initially, as per Ambrey, a cargo ship in Gulf of Aden had a rocket strike on it. The strike hit the ship's bow, creating a fire. A second rocket was said to have missed this freighter. Additionally, there were small boat firings. Eventually, the ship modified its path to reach a port.

Moreover, in another case within the Gulf of Aden, a vessel was targeted by a projectile on Saturday evening, per UKMTO, sparking a blaze. Nobody was wounded. The Houthi rebels accepted responsibility for these two freighters' attacks. As per the militia spokesperson, Yahya Saree, it involved a Liberian-flagged ship and another Antiguan and Barbudan-flagged vessel. The Huthis also professed accountability for an assault on a British naval ship. Still, London hasn't confirmed this.

The Iran-backed Shiite Houthi rebels, who control areas of Yemen, have targeted ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November. They believe they're aiding Palestinian Islamist organisation Hamas in its conflict with Israel. The Huthis are part of the "Axis of Resistance," including Hezbollah militia from Lebanon.

Consequently, the US and UK initiated assaults against the militia in Yemen. Furthermore, vessels from two global alliances attempted to protect maritime traffic along the Yemeni coast. The German Navy also participated with the frigate "Hessen" in the EU maritime mission "Aspides."
