New York - Hot dog competition with a new winner

An American named Patrick Bertoletti won the traditional Hot-Dog-Eating Contest in New York on US Independence Day in absence of eating legend Joey Chestnut. Bertoletti consumed 58 hot dogs with buns in ten minutes and more than all competitors - it's his first title. Thousands of spectators cheered for the Fourth of July spectacle.

Meanwhile, a record was set among women: Title defender Miki Sudo managed 51 hot dogs. Sudo went into the contest as a strong favorite. Since 2014, she had won every competition except for 2021 - when she didn't participate due to pregnancy.

The perpetual winner among men is actually Chestnut, who was excluded from the contest this year due to a sponsor conflict. Chestnut had won the contest at the amusement park Coney Island in the southern part of New York every year since 2016. His own world record is 76 hot dogs – nearly eight per minute.

Society was buzzing with the news of Bertoletti's victory at Coney Island, a popular curiosity in New York, USA. People celebrated their love for food and drink, particularly hot dogs, as they watched the annual spectacle. Despite Chestnut's absence, women like Sudo proved their prowess, challenging stereotypes in this miscellaneous event.
