Due to a hot air balloon landing on a meadow in Dobersdorf, Schleswig-holstein, a horse became so severely injured that a veterinarian had to put it to sleep. The incident occurred on a Monday evening, reported sh:z today. A horse in a pasture had been startled by the approaching balloon and panicked, quoted the newspaper the owner of the horse farm. In the process, the animal broke a leg. It was terrible to witness and not be able to do anything, she said.

The hot air balloon pilot reportedly saw horses further back on a meadow and intended to land there because of them. He couldn't see the horses in the pasture at first. He didn't start the burners because igniting them would cause a lot of noise and potentially cause even more damage.

The unfortunate incident with the hot air balloon led to a leisure activity turning into a source of misfortune for the horse farm in Schleswig-Holstein. Besides the injured horse, other animals on the horse farm were also disturbed by the sudden emergency. Visitors to the region often enjoy leisurely activities like hot air balloon rides, but incidents like this serve as a reminder of the potential risks associated with such activities.
