The assailants arrived around 1.00 am in a 4x4 vehicle and opened fire first on three people waiting outside the banquet hall, where the Turkish community was having a wedding, reported France Info. They then fired on two people at the entrance and fled with their vehicle.

A young man was killed, three other victims were critically injured, and there were also two lightly injured people due to flying glass shards, according to the prosecutor's office. In addition, a pregnant woman suffered a shock, as reported by the local newspaper "Le Républicain Lorrain".

When the emergency services arrived, the shooters had already fled. The investigation was entrusted to the Direction for Organized and Specialized Crime (DCOS) in the Moselle department, according to the prosecutor's office.
