27-year-old stabbed to death - Homicide in Achim - suspect calls police himself

A man was stabbed to death in a house in Achim, in the Verden district. The first findings of the investigators indicate that his 37-year-old roommate made a distress call in the night and later confessed to the crime, the police reported. The response teams discovered the unresponsive 27-year-old with stab wounds on the floor in the house. Despite several resuscitation attempts, a doctor could only confirm his death.

The 37-year-old confessed to the police upon arrival. He was arrested peacefully, according to investigators. He is now in custody for suspected manslaughter. The crime scene was examined and witnesses were questioned in the night. The exact sequence of events and the motives behind the crime were initially unclear according to the police.

The incident occurred in the town of Achim, located in the region of Lower Saxony. The police are treating this as a homicide case due to the fatal stab wound. The confessed suspect is currently being held in detention for alleged manslaughter.
