traffic - High sickness rate: S-Bahn disruptions at the weekend

Due to high sick leave among the staff of Rhein-Main-Verkehrsbund (RMV), several S-Bahn lines are canceled or running only every half an hour on the weekend.

According to RMV's announcement, the intermediate services of lines S1, S5, and S6 are canceled on Friday. On Saturday, line S4 is canceled completely, and the intermediate services of lines S1 and S5 are also canceled.

On Sunday, line S4, as well as the trains on lines S8 and S9, are canceled. The disruption is predicted to last until Sunday midnight, as stated on RMV's website.

Despite the cancellations, commuters in Frankfurt am Main can still rely on the S-Bahn services running every hour on line S2 during the weekend. The disruptions are causing some inconvenience for people in the Rhine-Main-Area, especially those with health issues who rely on the railway for medical appointments in Hesse. Additionally, traffic in and around Frankfurt am Main might be heavier due to the cancellations, as some people may opt for personal cars instead.
