2. Bundesliga - Hertha defeated Zwickau sovereignly in the friendly match 6:1

Football-Second division team Hertha BSC also won their fourth preparation game. Against Regional League team FSV Zwickau, the Berliners dominated with a sovereign 6:1 (4:0) win, in front of 3007 spectators.

From the start, the Berliners controlled the proceedings against the Zwickau crowd. Hertha was lively in pressing and defensively tight. The first three goals all came after rebounds. Florian Niederlechner (14th minute), striker Luca Schuler (19th, scoring his first goal for Hertha), and Marten Winkler (27th) scored. Winkler earned his second goal (34th) through consistent ball possession.

Zwickau's captain Mike Könecke (53rd) scored a beautiful goal to make it 1:4. Then, newcomer Kevin Sessa (59th) scored his first goal for the Berliners with a direct free-kick.

Hertha coach Cristian Fiel then replaced nine field players. Derry Scherhant scored the final goal in the 70th minute. Coach Fiel opted out of using midfield newcomer Diego Demme due to load management reasons. Winger Fabian Reese was absent due to a reported infection.

Hertha will fine-tune for the upcoming season from July 18th to 27th at the training camp in Walchsee, Tirol. The Hauptstadtclub starts the new 2nd league season on August 3rd with a home game against SC Paderborn. The second game of the season will be against Hamburger SV.
