At a vehicle check on the A30 highway close to the Dutch border, customs officers secured over nine kilograms of Heroin. The drugs were worth approximately 480,000 Euro, as a spokesperson for the Main Customs Office Osnabrück announced today. The investigators had monitored the traffic on the A30 on Sunday and stopped a vehicle authorized for use in Germany. The 52-year-old driver stated that he was visiting a cousin in the Netherlands. He claimed not to have narcotics with him.
The customs officers did not believe the man and searched the vehicle. In the trunk, they discovered the packaged drugs. The 52-year-old was temporarily arrested and brought before a remand judge. He was taken into custody.
