Head of ChatGPT inventor OpenAI has to go
The development company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT has undergone a surprising change of leadership. The board of directors of OpenAI has withdrawn its confidence in co-founder and company director Sam Altman.
According to a statement, Altman had not been honest in his communication with the board. Altman was the public face of OpenAI and was in the spotlight at the company's first developer conference just a few days ago.
Head of Technology Mira Murati will take over as CEO for the time being, while a permanent successor is to be found.
The chatbot ChatGPT can formulate sentences at the linguistic level of a human. Its release around a year ago triggered a hype around artificial intelligence. OpenAI thus became a pioneer in the technology. Microsoft entered into a multi-billion euro pact with the company to incorporate its technology into the Group's products.
