Hamas health ministry reports more than 200 dead in night-time attacks
The Israeli army reported "significant" attacks in the Gaza Strip on Monday. The army had stepped up its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip in recent days.
Hundreds of fighters from the radical Islamic Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, attacked Israel on October 7 and committed atrocities in a number of villages and at a music festival, mainly against civilians, including many women and children. According to Israeli figures, around 1,400 people were killed and more than 240 others were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip.
Israel then declared war on Hamas and took the Gaza Strip under constant fire. According to Hamas figures, which cannot be independently verified, more than 9,700 people have been killed so far.
The Middle East war between Israel and Hamas continues to claim lives, as evidenced by the Hamas Ministry of Health's report of over 200 dead following night-time attacks. The escalation of attacks by Hamas, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, has raised international concerns and calls for a ceasefire.
