- Hamas fires rockets at Israel
For the first time since late May, the Islamist terror organization Hamas has again fired rockets at central Israel. A projectile from the Gaza Strip fell into the Mediterranean Sea in the center of the country, the army reported. The military wing of Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack with two rockets, which were aimed at Tel Aviv and its suburbs. A second projectile was identified but did not enter Israeli territory, the army said.
There were no initial reports of injuries. Residents in the center of Tel Aviv reported hearing an explosion. According to the army, no rocket alert was triggered. This was reportedly because the projectiles did not hit populated areas. The last time Hamas attacked Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip with rockets was at the end of May.
The following incident marked the first rocket attack by Hamas since their last attack at Tel Aviv's outskirts in late May. The following projectile launched from the Gaza Strip landed harmlessly in the Mediterranean Sea.
