Football-Bundesliga - Guirassy-Transfer to BVB remains a hanging partition
The planned switch of Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund remains a pending move for now. According to information from the German Press Agency (dpa), another medical examination of the 28-year-old former VfB Stuttgart striker is only planned at the beginning of the coming weeks. As videos from "Ruhr Nachrichten" show, Guirassy traveled back to Stuttgart from Dortmund's airport a day after his failed health check. The football Bundesligist did not provide further details about the severity of his injury during the first team training.
Since the 18 million Euro professional failed the medical check, the already existing four-year contract was not signed yet. It is believed that Guirassy sustained the injury during a national team game for Guinea in early June, which requires further medical clarification according to Borussia Dortmund.
Therefore, the first team training of the 2024/25 season under the leadership of new trainer Nuri Sahin took place without the supposed new addition. The numerous EM participants of Borussia and the Copa America player Giovanni Reyna will only join training at the end of July. The US national player, who last played for Nottingham Forest, is among the returning loan players, along with outside defender Tom Rothe (Holstein Kiel) and Soumalia Coulibaly (Royal Antwerpen).
The first new signing for VfB Stuttgart is already confirmed in the national player Waldemar Anton. Besides Guirassy, Pascal Groß is also expected to reinforce the squad. The negotiations with the contractually bound Mittelfeldspieler of the English club Brighton & Hove Albion, who was also part of the DFB squad at the EM like Anton, are reportedly close to completion.
- Despite the ongoing issue with Serhou Guirassy's medical examination, Dortmund's rival team, VfB Stuttgart, is actively looking to strengthen their squad.
- As reported by Ruhr News, Guirassy's return to Stuttgart after a failed medical check at Dortmund's airport added more uncertainty to his move to Borussia Dortmund (BVB).
- The 2024/25 Bundesliga season's first team training session in North Rhine-Westphalia started without the anticipated addition of Guirassy, as his injury requires more medical examination.
- Borussia Dortmund, currently in Germany, is expecting the return of key players like Borussia and EM participant Giovanni Reyna and Copa America player Giovanni Reyna at the end of July.
- In the meantime, VfB Stuttgart, located in Germany's southwestern state, has secured its first signing of the new season with the confirmation of national player Waldemar Anton.
- Stuttgart is also looking to reinforce their team with the addition of Pascal Groß, and negotiations with the contractually bound Mittelfeldspieler of Brighton & Hove Albion are progressing.
- Guirassy's move to Borussia Dortmund remains a crucial topic in the German football press, with the German Press Agency (dpa) and news outlets like Ruhr News closely monitoring the situation.
