Germany intends to bolster Ukraine's resources with an extra 170 million euros.
Germany announces an extra 170 million euros to revitalize Ukraine's energy system. Speaking late Wednesday, German government representative Steffen Hebestreit mentioned this following a gathering related to the Ukraine Compact during the UN General Assembly in New York. Hebestreit pointed out that Russia's aggressive war has left significant destruction in Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. As a result, the funds will be released promptly.
The Ukraine Compact is a collection of protective commitments for Ukraine, established at the NATO summit in July, which have been endorsed by more than 20 countries and the EU.
During the meeting, a joint statement from G7 nations and other Compact members was adopted to boost Ukraine's financial recovery and reconstruction. This reiterated their intentions to offer "military, financial, and humanitarian aid, as well as reconstruction support."
According to Hebestreit, the G7 allies once again pledged to contribute an extra 50 billion USD (approximately 45 billion euros) to Kyiv before year's end.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has scheduled a meeting with US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington for Thursday. Zelenskyy is in the US for a prolonged visit to lobby western allies for additional aid for his nation. Zelenskyy will present his so-called victory strategy to Biden, a plan aimed at finding a resolution to the Ukraine conflict.**
For the international community's commitment to support Ukraine's recovery, the German government announced to allocate an extra 170 million euros. This funding is a response to the extensive damage caused by Russia's aggressive war.
