Flooding has led to the need for action. - German Railways still recommends avoiding trips to southern Germany.

Currently, due to the flooding in several regions of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Deutsche Bahn urges passengers to avoid traveling to Southern Germany. The interruption in long-distance train services, specifically those heading to Munich, cannot be reached from Stuttgart, Würzburg, and Nuremberg, as per the railway's official announcement. These disruptions are anticipated to persist on Monday.

The affected routes include Munich-Nuremberg-Erfurt-Berlin, Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-Ulm-Augsburg-Munich, Stuttgart-Mannheim-Frankfurt(M), Munich-Lindau-Bregenz-Zurich, Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-Crailsheim-Nuremberg, and Augsburg-Kempten (Allgäu)-Oberstdorf. Passengers traveling between Nuremberg and Würzburg should expect delays.

For train tickets booked on Sunday and Monday for these routes, the requirement to maintain the original route has been waived. Ticket holders can now use alternative routes to reach their destination. However, other train connections are still expected to be extremely crowded.

Severe weather conditions and flooding have had a major impact in several locations, especially in the Rems-Murr and Ostalb districts east of Stuttgart. Following days of nonstop rainfall, rivers and streams have overflowed in various parts of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate their homes. The water level in the Danube is also increasing, and a wave of helpers has rushed to aid those affected. The German Weather Service predicts the potential for heavy thunderstorms and severe rain at the start of the week.
