Inundation Occurs - German Railway Company cautions against visiting southern Germany.

Due to ongoing flooding in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Deutsche Bahn advises against travel to South Germany. Long-distance train disruptions are expected, with Munich being inaccessible from Stuttgart, Würzburg, and Nuremberg. These restrictions will likely continue on Monday.

The following routes are impacted:

  1. Munich-Nuremberg-Erfurt-Berlin
  2. Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-Ulm-Augsburg-Munich
  3. Stuttgart-Mannheim-Frankfurt(M)
  4. Munich-Lindau-Bregenz-Zurich
  5. Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-Crailsheim-Nuremberg
  6. Augsburg-Kempten (Allgäu)-Oberstdorf

Between Nuremberg and Würzburg, trains are experiencing delays.

For tickets booked until Monday for Monday and Tuesday on these routes, the train connection is cancelled. The ticket remains valid for travel to the original destination via a different route. Other trains are anticipated to have high passenger numbers.

Areas east of Stuttgart are experiencing significant issues:

On Monday morning, the situation in the Rems-Murr and Ostalb districts, located east of Stuttgart, was especially dire. Heavy rainfall over several days has caused rivers and streams to overflow in many regions of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, forcing around 4,000 people to evacuate their homes. The Danube river's water level is also rising. Tens of thousands of volunteers are actively assisting in the area. The German Weather Service predicts the potential for heavy thunderstorms and strong rainfall at the beginning of the week.
