The man and the 28-year-old woman were on the paddle boat on the Rhine near Rheinau, about eight kilometers southwest of Schaffhausen, where there is a dam that generates power for a power plant. They were swept over the dam, the police stated. A passerby rescued the woman from the waters. The accident occurred around 21.30 hours. Fire departments from Switzerland and Germany have searched the shore and the Rhine, but to no avail.
