German military acquires more than 1500 trucks from Rheinmetall.

The German military, Bundeswehr, has placed an order for 1,500 trucks worth approximately 920 million euros with German defense company, Rheinmetall, as per an announcement on Wednesday.

The vast majority of the financing for this significant order will come from the Bundeswehr's special budget. The delivery of these vehicles is scheduled to begin in the latter half of 2024 with the completion date set for mid-November 2024. Prior to this, Rheinmetall and the Bundeswehr had inked a contract in June 2020 for providing trucks, which runs until 2027. This agreement allows for the supply of up to 4,000 trucks, and so far, more than 1,000 trucks have been provided to the military.
