German exports to countries outside the EU decreased in June
**German exports to countries outside the European Union decreased in June compared to the previous month, according to preliminary results from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In the previous month, goods worth 58.0 billion Euro were exported to third countries, which represents a decrease of 2.6% compared to May.
Unadjusted for calendars and seasons, goods worth 58.0 billion Euro were also exported to third countries in June. Compared to the same month the previous year, June 2024 exports decreased by 8.9%.
The United States remained the largest trading partner for German exporters in June 2024, with goods worth 13.0 billion Euro exported there. This represents a decrease of 6.2% compared to June 2023.
Goods worth 8.0 billion Euro were exported to the People's Republic of China, which is 9.9% less than in the same month the previous year. Exports to the United Kingdom decreased by 3.7% to 6.5 billion Euro in the year-on-year comparison.**
German exports to the United States of America also saw a decrease in June, with a 6.2% decrease compared to the previous year. Despite this, the United States continues to be a significant business partner for Germany, maintaining its position as one of the top export destinations within the States. Even within the context of the European Union, exports to the United States of America surpassed those to other member countries during this period.
