German narcotics agents have snagged an unprecedented haul of cocaine in the country, valued at several billion Euros. This revelation came from the Central Office for Organized Crime at the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office on a recent Friday.

Beating the record for intra-German seizures of this drug, the large quantity of cocaine was found at Hamburg Port last year. The volume of drugs involved amounts to a whopping 35 tons.

Recent weeks saw searches conducted in seven federal states: North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Hesse, and Lower Saxony. Seven arrest warrants were enacted in the process.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, investigators searched in Bonn, Cologne, Leverkusen, and Wachtberg in the Rhein-Sieg-District. The southern state of Bavaria saw operations in its prominent city of Munich. In Hesse, officers targeted Frankfurt. Measures were taken in Brandenburg's Märkisch-Oderland district, and in Lower Saxony's Heidekreis region.

The authorities will provide more details about the "OP Plexus" investigation, along with updates on the search results, during their upcoming Monday press conference.
