Doctor's Representative - Gehle and Reinhardt are running again for Medical Chamber
Doctors Johannes Gehle and Klaus Reinhardt are set to run again in the fall for the Medical Chamber Westfalen-Lippe. They announced this at a press conference in Munster on Tuesday evening. Gehle aims for a second term as President, Reinhardt runs again for Vice President of the Board.
Doctors in the Westphalia-Lippe regional area are called to the Chamber election in September and October. The election of the new Board is planned for November 30. Whether there will be further candidates for the election, according to the Chamber, is currently still open. However, there were no runoff elections in the past.
Gehle is the head of Intensive Care at a clinic in Gelsenkirchen, Reinhardt is a general practitioner with his own practice in Bielefeld. The current Vice President is also President of the Federal Medical Chamber and the German Medical Association.
The Medical Chamber, as a corporation under public law, is the professional representation of approximately 51,000 doctors in Westfalen-Lippe. According to the statutes, it is responsible for the further and continuing education of physicians and the organization of medical emergency services outside of office hours. The Medical Chamber is also a point of contact for assessing medical errors.
