Fresh assault on Reichsbürger organization involving Prince Reuß.
As multiple individuals linked to the Reichsbürger movement around Prince Reuß are currently facing trial, authorities are now going after their backers. A major police operation is underway, involving the search of seven locations, where they suspect people of possessing firearms.
On Tuesday morning, the operation began searching various spots across Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein, including a manor house, bunker facilities, and a former military training ground, as reported by Spiegel. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor General Jens Rommel stated that two alleged supporters of the group were being targeted during this sweep. No arrests were made.
The 73-year-old and 63-year-old suspects, who reside in Baden-Württemberg, are alleged to have provided the group with spaces for the recruitment of new members.
The older individual is said to have a vast collection of firearms, and this is why the searches have been conducted with heightened security measures. The operation, which involves experts from various states and the explosives disposal service, is focused on uncovering hidden weapons caches.
Also in the mix is a separate search operation in Dresden, carried out by the General Public Prosecutor's Office, although few details have been provided about its nature or connection to the Prince Reuß case. The Saxony towns of Seiffen and Pockau-Lengefeld were amongst those targeted. A spokesperson for the prosecutor's office declined to comment further on the details.
