From a fight between two brothers in the hinterland of the southern Italian city of Naples, a brutal crime has occurred: A 57-year-old man, according to police reports, stabbed his 13-years older brother and beheaded him. According to initial investigations, the two brothers had been living together in their family home for some time. The dispute allegedly occurred on a Wednesday evening around 10:00 PM. The 70-year-old was already in bed, according to a report by "La Repubblica," when he was surprised by his brother. Witnesses reportedly saw a knife and an axe.
According to the investigators, the younger brother called the police on his own accord after the incident. Initially, he had barricaded himself in the house, but then opened the door voluntarily to the police. The police described a gruesome scene: The body of the 70-year-old was mutilated by numerous stab wounds, the head was missing. The suspected perpetrator is now in custody. According to "Repubblica," he had previously been violent in connection with alcohol.
There were also reports of previous disputes between the two brothers. The 70-year-old, a widower, had returned to his hometown from the capital city of Rome some time ago after retiring.
