Cities - Frankfurt particularly densely populated city

Frankfurt is one of the most densely populated German metropolises. The Main metropolis ranks third with 3,113 inhabitants and inhabitants per square kilometer, according to the city. The figures come from the year 2022, sources being not only the city's own data but also the Statistical Offices of the Federal and State Governments. Frankfurt, the fifth largest German city, counted approximately 770,000 inhabitants at the end of 2023.

With a population growth of nearly three percent between 2018 and 2022, Frankfurt is among the fastest growing metropolises, stated City Councillor Eileen O’Sullivan (Volt). The reasons were almost exclusively in-migration. Frankfurt and Munich were reportedly the only metropolises with more births than deaths.

The average living space in Frankfurt in 2022 was the smallest among all German metropolises. According to the statistics, an average of 37.5 square meters per inhabitant or inhabitant was available here. The largest space was shown by the statistics for Hannover with 42.0 square meters.

Frankfurt, situated in Hesse, is one of the biggest cities in Germany, serving as a significant metropolis. The municipality's population in 2023 was approximately 770,000 people, making it the fifth most populous city in Germany. Interestingly, the city of Berlin, the main metropolis, is the most populous with over 3.7 million inhabitants. Frankfurt am Main and Munich are two other prominent big cities in Germany, known for their rapid population growth, with Frankfurt ranking among the fastest-growing metropolises.
