Frankfort's recent headshot is linked to an alleged family dispute
After the tragic shooting of a 27-year-old at Frankfurt Central Station, the investigators have potential motives under consideration. Initial suspicions point towards a family dispute. However, the German public prosecutor's office cautions against spreading misinformation.
Recently, Turkish news outlets have reported details about the incident. Yet, the German authorities have not confirmed any specifics about the alleged family feud in Turkey. On Tuesday night, the man was gunned down at a central platform within the bustling station of Hesse's main city. A 54-year-old individual was apprehended as the prime suspect.
Both suspect and victim are said to be Turkish nationals. Since the incident, various media outlets have disclosed personal details of both parties. Nevertheless, some information proved to be inaccurate, the public prosecutor's office advised.
German news outlets base their reports on chronicles of the feud detailed in multiple Turkish media sources. According to those reports, the 27-year-old, who was shot dead in Frankfurt this week, allegedly killed the adult nephew of his killer in Antalya three months ago with twelve shots. He reportedly fled to Germany after the incident, blaming the man for his brother's murder in Şanlıurfa, eastern Turkey in 2016.
Multiple gunshot wounds
The exact doubts of German investigators about the reported details, including names and crime sequence, are not yet clear. The authorities confirmed that the videos circulating online match the one they possess.
As per the investigation, the 54-year-old walkedly approached the victim from behind and fired multiple rounds. The 27-year-old, standing on the platform, sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene. The suspect then reportedly fled, discarding the weapon. However, he was detained by federal police officers situated a couple of tracks away, surrendering without incident. The weapon was recovered and confiscated, presently kept under custody.
Despite the numerous reports linking the incident to a family dispute in Turkey, German authorities have yet to officially confirm any such connection between murder and manslaughter. The ongoing investigation into the shooting at Frankfurt Central Station is focusing on the sequence of events and the accuracy of the available information.
