Fourth day of a countrywide trial of emergency warning systems in Germany

On a Thursday, the fourth Warning Day is scheduled, a nationwide test of Germany's alert mechanisms. At 11:00 AM, the national and state authorities will set off their emergency alert systems for a trial run. Local authorities are also welcome to participate. Consequently, residents will receive warning texts, alerts via warning applications, or hear notifications on the radio and television. Furthermore, thousands of digital screens in city centers will broadcast official warnings. The purpose of the Warning Day is to evaluate technical and organizational systems and elevate public cognizance of this matter. Following the initial nationwide Warning Day in September 2020 that encountered some difficulties, the framework has been enhanced.

During the nationwide test, various alarm structures and devices, such as emergency alert systems and warning applications, will be activated. The improved framework, including enhanced alarm structures and devices, aims to ensure a smoother execution in future Warning Days.
