traffic accident - Fortunato, Linkelandtag deputy seriously injured
The Brandenburg Left Party state legislator Bettina Fortunato was severely injured in a traffic accident. She is being treated intensively in a hospital in Berlin, according to Links fraction leader Sebastian Walter. "We are sad and shocked, supporting her family and hoping that Bettina will fully recover."
On the Federal Highway 1, between Jahnsfelde and Diedersdorf near Seelow, two cars are suspected to have collided head-on. The 67-year-old woman who was driving sustained severe injuries, according to police reports. Earlier, the "Märkische Oderzeitung" reported on the accident.
Born in 1957, Fortunato is a spokesperson for Europe, Women and Family in the Left fraction in the state parliament. She was a legislator from 2009 to 2014 and has been a legislator in the state parliament since 2016. Fortunato no longer ran for the Landtag.
