Former RAF terrorist in ICE?

In February, investigators arrested former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette. The search continues for her two accomplices, Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkhard Garweg. Officers might have caught one of the two.

Arrest in Berlin - Former RAF terrorist in ICE?

At Berlin's Spandau Station, a person has been provisionally arrested in connection with the search for two former RAF terrorists. The operation on Tuesday was carried out jointly with the Federal Police following a tip from the public, according to a spokesperson for the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office (LKA). The identity of the person is currently being established, with no timeline provided by the spokesperson.

According to a report by Bild, the informant claimed to have recognized the man, who was allegedly sitting in an ICE train, as Ernst-Volker Staub. The LKA spokesperson only confirmed that the arrest is related to the search for Burkhard Garweg, 55, and Ernst-Volker Staub, 69.

The Federal Police Directorate in Berlin stated that a man was provisionally arrested following a person check on Tuesday around 9:00 PM. He is currently in custody in Berlin, according to a spokesperson.

In February, the first RAF terrorist, Daniela Klette, was arrested. The prosecution in Verden has been investigating Staub, Klette, and Garweg since 2015 for attempted murder and attempted and completed serious robbery in multiple cases. The LKA in Lower Saxony has been leading the investigation, which has been ongoing for decades.

The arrest at Berlin's Spandau Station is being overseen by The Office of the Prosecutor, as they are involved in the ongoing investigation against Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub. The Office of the Prosecutor in Verden has been pursuing charges of attempted murder and robbery against Staub, Klette, and Garweg since 2015.
