- Following tractor mishaps, neither children nor grown-ups face immediate risks to their lives.
Following a mishap involving a tractor and trailer in the region between Thuringia and Hesse's border, five critically injured kids and a woman were reported to be out of danger as of late Sunday night, with no new developments reported by the authorities.
The accident happened with a vehicle combination in Sünna, a district of Unterbreizbach in the Wartburg district, on a Sunday. The children and a 45-year-old woman were airlifted to hospitals with life-threatening injuries initially. Besides them, the 70-year-old tractor driver and three more children suffered severe injuries. Two additional children sustained minor injuries.
According to police reports, the tractor, traveling on a rugged, graveled forest road, lost control and flipped over at the time of the incident. The nine children, ranging from 4 to 13 years old, and the 45-year-old woman were in the trailer. The trip was a private event.
As per the standard procedure, the authorities are treating this incident as an accident. A preliminary investigation for negligent harm has been launched against the driver, as is common in such scenarios.
