A thunderstorm caused flooded basements, overflowing streets, and traffic disruptions due to fallen trees in parts of Upper Bavaria and Swabia. As a police spokesperson in Kempten stated, the streets were partly white with hailstones. Between 6 pm and midnight on Friday, the police received approximately 320 weather-related incidents, according to the spokesperson. The focus was therefore in the areas of East- and Oberallgäu as well as the western part of the Lindau district. The follow-up incidents such as pumping out basements continued into the night.

Between 7 pm and midnight on Friday, there were approximately 230 incident reports due to the thunderstorm in the entire area of the Police Presidium Oberbayern Süd, stated a spokesperson in Rosenheim. However, there were no major incidents. The main issues were flooded basements and trees that had fallen on streets and in some cases on rails. No injuries were reported.

In Kempten, the Swabians experienced similar weather-related difficulties as other parts of Upper Bavaria and Swabia, with hailstones making some streets appear white. Despite the severe weather conditions, no significant flooding was reported in Kempten compared to other affected areas. The German city of Munich also experienced some flooding, adding to the country's weather woes. The police in Munich worked alongside their colleagues in Kempten and other regions to manage the situation, responding to numerous weather-related incidents.
