In the midst of Austria, the civil protection alert for the severely impacted town of Deutschfeistritz was lifted on Sunday. A fire department representative stated that they received no reports of casualties. This community of around 4000 people, situated north of Graz, was hit by a flash flood on Saturday night, which swept cars away and damaged many houses.

The Uebelbach river swelled its banks from the relentless rainfall. Meteorologists estimated that over 100 liters of rain per square meter landed in the region in a brief timeframe. A landslide encroached upon the A2 motorway near Graz, prompting both sides to be shut down temporarily on Sunday.

Due to the mudslides, numerous trees crash-landed onto the roads. A police representative shared that several routes remained closed. The fire service was working tirelessly to mitigate the damage, with the Kleine Zeitung reporting that more than 800 weather-related operations were executed around the state capital of Graz. A nursing home in Neudau, Styria, needed to be evacuated as water flooded the premises, stated a disaster control representative for the APA news agency. "Forty residents were safely relocated."

The weather initially showed signs of improvement on Sunday. Nonetheless, the possibility of thunderstorms later in the day couldn't be dismissed, as per meteorologists. The risk of storms was significantly higher in Tyrol, according to them.

Heavy rain on Saturday thwarted the live broadcast of the ARD program "Schlagerboom Open Air" featuring Florian Silbereisen from Kitzbühel on First. Consequently, the pre-taped general rehearsal of the show was televised from 8:15 p.m.
