A blaze in the previous training grounds close to Jüterbog, Brandenburg, has been put out. To stay cautious, a fire patrol continues to operate at the location, as confirmed by the spokesperson from the Brandenburg an der Havel regional command center. At the moment, no residential areas have been impacted by the blaze, positioned north of the federal highway 102 between Altes Lager and Klausdorf.

The fire started spontaneously on Friday and spread over approximately eight to nine hectares. The presence of old munitions underground complicated the firefighting efforts. Firefighters tackled the fire safely from designated paths. As per the regional command center, a military fire-fighting helicopter was mobilized in the evening. Extensive watering ensued.

The spokesperson mentioned that the fire didn't affect any nearby areas of interest, such as the nearby forest filled with other types of plants, including flowering ones. Despite the successful extinguishing of the fire, regular patrols will continue to monitor for any potential smoldering spots.
