Lower Franconia - Fire in company for herbal mixtures - cause unclear

After a fire at a company for herbs and fruit tea mixtures in Unterfranken, the fire department was still occupied with extinguishing hotspots in the morning. A spokesperson from the Würzburg Police Headquarters confirmed this. The production building in Abtswind (Landkreis Kitzingen) was severely damaged by the fire, experts are now checking the statics of the roof construction to exclude the possibility that the building may collapse.

The cause of the fire is still unclear. Investigators have not been able to enter the building yet. When this will be possible is still not clear, said the spokesperson. The damages are estimated in the millions by the police. A company spokesperson made no comments on request. It is currently unclear when production in the affected area can continue.

The fire severely damaged a hall of the Herbs Mix GmbH with six production lines. On the premises, there are still numerous other production lines and warehouses as well as an administrative building. These were spared from the fire.

The approximately ten employees in the building remained unharmed during the fire. A firefighter sustained light injuries, but not directly during the extinguishing work, according to the police.

The fire incident occurred in the Würzburg region, specifically in Lower Franconia's County of Kitzingen. The local fire department is working tirelessly to extinguish remaining hotspots, as confirmed by the Fire Department of Würzburg. Despite the damage to the Herbs Mix GmbH's production building in Abtswind, trading activities in the administrative building and other facilities remain unaffected. The Bavarian fire incident has brought the attention of the German Police, who are working alongside local authorities to investigate the cause of the UNDERFRONT.
