Tragedy on vacation - Fifty-year-old tourist dies in balcony fall on Mallorca
An eleven-year-old girl from Ireland died after falling from a balcony at Mallorca. The child reportedly fell from the seventh floor of a hotel in Alcúdia in the north of the Spanish Balearic Island, plunging around 20 meters into the depths, according to regional newspapers "Diario de Mallorca" and "Última Hora", quoting hotel spokespersons. At that time, the parents were still asleep.
The resuscitation attempts by the quickly arrived rescue services were unsuccessful. The police have launched investigations. Initial findings suggest an accident, however. The parents, who originally intended to return to Ireland on Monday, will be cared for by psychologists, it was reported.
