Tourism - Fewer travel agencies in Saxony-Anhalt after the coronavirus pandemic

In Saxony-Anhalt, there are fewer travel agencies than before the Corona-Pandemic. In 2022, travel enthusiasts could book a trip in 187 travel agency branches - that's 53 branches (around 22 percent) fewer than in 2019, as the Statistical State Office reports. Therefore, about 178,000 people in Saxony-Anhalt booked their trips online in 2022, which is more than 11 percent of all internet users in that federal state. Nationwide, about 13.5 million people booked accommodations online (21.7 percent of all internet users).
