FC Augsburg have loaned out striker Dion Beljo to Austria. The 22-year-old Croatian is expected to gain confidence and playing time at Rapid Wien, according to the Bundesligist. The loan is "the best option for him to showcase his abilities and, in particular, to play regularly," explained FCA-Sportdirektor Marinko Jurendic.

Beljo's contract at the Fuggerstadt club runs until 2027. He joined Augsburg in January 2023; since then, the national team player has scored five goals and provided three assists in 44 Bundesliga matches. In the previous season, he was only a reserve. The loan deal had been hinted at - Beljo was already missing at the Augsburg training session on Monday.

The operating time of Beljo's loan to Rapid Wien is yet to be determined. Beljo's departure from FC Augsburg is a move that allows him to explore opportunities in the Austrian Bundesliga with Rapid Vienna.
