FBI: Trump attempted acts alone

During a campaign rally by Donald Trump, a 20-year-old man named Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on the ex-president and injured him in the ear. Security forces shot and killed the attacker a short while later.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, the Trump attacker, acted alone according to the FBI. There are no further safety concerns, said FBI representative Kevin Rojek in Pennsylvania. The incident will be classified as a domestic terrorist attack and as an attempted assassination.

The FBI is investigating the social media accounts of the 20-year-old who was killed by security forces. However, they have not yet found any evidence of an ideology or a psychological disorder of the attacker. The weapon, a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, was legally purchased, presumably by the suspect's father. Bomb experts have also secured a suspicious device in the suspect's car, which has been taken to the lab for further investigation.

Previously, the "Wall Street Journal" reported that bomb materials were found in Crooks' car and home. It is unclear where the 20-year-old stood politically. According to voter records, Crooks was registered as a Republican in his home state of Pennsylvania. However, federal records related to campaign financing show that he donated $15 to a progressive political action committee on January 20, 2021 - the day of Joe Biden's inauguration. According to the Pentagon, Crooks had not served in the US military.

The 20-year-old, who hails from the Pittsburgh area in Pennsylvania, fired shots at the rally venue from an elevated position during Trump's campaign speech in the city of Butler on Saturday. Trump was injured by a bullet in the ear. One bystander was killed, two others were seriously injured. Crooks was later shot and killed by Secret Service sharpshooters.

Despite the 20-year-old attacker's donation to a progressive political action committee, former President Donald Trump was targeted during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The incident, classified as a domestic terrorist attack and an attempted assassination, took place during Trump's speech in Butler.

In the aftermath of the attack in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump was injured by a gunshot in his ear, while attempts to understand the attacker's motivations continue in the United States of America.
