Vote-counting for the final round of an election - Far-right candidate Frenck unsuccessful in Thuringia's district council vote.

Tommy Frenck, a notorious right-wing extremist, failed to win the runoff election for the district council in Hildburghausen, Thuringia. After the votes from all 127 polling stations were counted, Frenck had garnered 30.5% of the votes, while his rival Sven Gregor from the Free Voter party secured 69.5%. This ultimately resulted in a straightforward victory for Gregor. In truth, approximately one-third of the voters in Hildburghausen backed the far-right Frenck.

Frenck gained prominence for orchestrating a succession of large neo-Nazi concerts, which attracted right-wing extremists from across Europe. Additionally, his political alliance "Alliance for the Future Hildburghausen" was said to have emerged as the leading neo-Nazi faction in the area, according to the report by the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in 2022.

Reportedly, Frenck should have been disqualified from contesting the election. However, the election committee in the district chose to allow him to run anyway. In the first round of the district council election two weeks prior, Frenck unexpectedly managed to make it to the second round and surpass a CDU candidate. There was no AfD candidate involved.
